In 1995, Dolly Parton launched an exciting new effort, Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, to benefit the children of her home county in East Tennessee, USA. Dolly's vision was to foster a love of reading among her county’s preschool children and their families by providing them with the gift of a specially selected book each month. By mailing high quality, age-appropriate books directly to their homes, she wanted children to be excited about books and to feel the magic that books can create. Moreover, she could insure that every child would have books, regardless of their family’s income.
Here in the Verde Valley there are well over 1,000 kids that are receiving a brand new, age-appropriate book every month.  You can help to continue the work that has begun by donating to:
Verde Valley Imagination Library

Or visit the to donate online.
Thanks for your support in this great work to allow kids the opportunity to read.
Great time at Duck Race 2016!  Thanks to all who helped us raise over $18,000!  Our great Interact club did a great job of selling tickets and water on the day of the race!
Did you know that Rotary of the Verde Valley has a Facebook page?  It's a great way to keep up to date on what is happening in our club.  "Like" the page and it will show up in your facebook feed.  Feel free to post on the page as well if you've got pictures or comments.
Great club today!  Congratulations to Richard on being our top producer for the Duck Race 2015 and our own Lois Kelley on her 2nd placeDuck Race prize.  Lois generously donated it back to the club for scholarships!
We also had Cody Bell come share with us about the formation of Cottonwood Young Life.
Thanks to all who helped out with the highway cleanup.  We appreciate our interact club that pitched in as well.  What a great day improving our community!
Fellow Rotarians!

Good job to all!!!  In my book, the Duck Race was a huge success.  You all make it look so easy.  Thank you, thank you, thank you!  The day went as planned.  It was a beautiful day.  The interact club came out  in full force.  It is nice to be associated with such a vibrant Interact Club.  We haven't had time yet to add up all of the proceeds, but I can tell you we exceeded our goal of $15,000.  It is so rewarding to know that all of this money will go toward supporting the educational needs of kids throughout the Verde Valley.  I can't think of a better cause.  We should all be proud.  Our hard work is paying off and by the way, it's fun!  Tania will provide us with a final report as we pull together the numbers.

The first place winner ($1000) is Spectrum Health.  Way to go Richard!  Second place ($250) goes to our friend and fellow Rotarian Lois Kelley.  Third place ($100) goes to Rick & Kathy Heinrich from Cornville.

On September 17, 2015 the Rotary Club of the Verde Valley presented four amazing students with its prestigious Student Ambassador of the Month Award at Nate’s Cowboy Cafe. These wonderful students are nominated for the award by teachers, administrators and counselors based on characteristics that may include leadership, teamwork, academics and service to the community. Pictured left to right (front row) are Maisie Babcock (MVP), Shacee Backus (CJS), (middle row) Sean Williams (MUHS), Lucy Showers (CVHS), Brian Sawyer (Rotarian), (back row) Richard Dehnert (Rotarian), Tom Taylor (Rotarian) and Carrie King (Rotarian).
