Current News
We were able to sponsor 12 students from Mingus HS to RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards) Camp this year.  Along with the support of the three Sedona Clubs we sent 27 students total from Mingus and Sedona.  RYLA camp takes place in January at Camp Pinerock in Prescott and includes many leadership activities.  Included are Challenge Course, seminars on public speaking, leadership and things like Empathy and getting out of your comfort zone.  The students attended our Rotary meeting to present their experiences.
For the fourth year we sponsored the Prom Closet at Mingus High School in Cottonwood.  With the support of Mingus HS, Verve Events and Tents and the Mingus Interact Club and Student Council, we are proud to provide FREE formal clothing for all Northern Arizona High School students.  We served over 75 students who took home over 200 items.  Students from several high schools attended, including Mingus, Camp Verde, Mayer, Seligman and Primavera and American Heritage Academy.  Thank you to all who donated gently used items of formal clothing, and we collect donations year round at Mingus High School.  Contact us with any questions.
Welcome new members over the past year to the Rotary Club of the Verde Valley.  Matt Schumacher, Jennifer Garrett, Cat Dale and Terry McLarty.

VERDE VALLEY IMAGINATION LIBRARY

All children in the Verde Valley between birth and 5 years are eligible for a FREE age-appropriate book each month.  The Board of the VVIL is made up of members of our local Rotary Clubs, as well as local community members.  We are proud to support this organization both with monetary gifts and service.  This year we gave $12,000 in collaboration with all four Rotary Clubs in the Verde Valley and The Rotary District 5495 Matching Grant.

Let's share in the excitement!
